Leopards Claw Past Men's Tennis

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men's tennis team dropped a non-conference affair to Wentworth Institute of Technology this afternoon on the Leopard Courts. The Lynx fall to 0-10 on the season with the defeat while the Leopards improve to 4-7 overall.

Wentworth swept through the doubles portion of the match before taking all six singles matches to complete the 9-0 sweep.

Wentworth's top pairing of seniors James Drum (Madison, Conn.) and Josh Dowd (Bristol, Conn.) raced past Lesley's Niko Marcolini (Newbury, Mass.) and Jack Tortorici (Grass Valley, Calif.) 8-0 while junior Zach Peter (Preston, Conn.) and sophomore Evan Gosselin (Lewiston, Maine) also converted an 8-0 decision over junior Devon Mayo (Newport News, Va.) and sophomore Alex Bonilla-Guevara (Cambridge, Mass.) at third doubles. WIT junior Mike Withington (Plymouth, Mass.) and sophomore Seng Ly (Lynn, Mass.) topped Lynx freshman Max Anthony (Cambridge, Mass.) and sophomore Khyle Park (Cambridge, Mass.) 8-2 in the second doubles flight.

Drum earned a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Marcolini in the top singles match while Thinh Dang (Boston, Mass.) defeated Park 6-3, 6-1 in fourth singles. Freshman Justin Wright (Wilmington, Mass.) downed Mayo 6-2, 6-0 in six singles while sophomore Henry Tittmann (Cambridge, Mass.), Dowd, and junior James Thomas (Lakeville, Mass.) all earned 6-0, 6-0 victories at second, third, and fifth singles, respectively.
