Becker Swings Past Men's Tennis

LEICESTER, MASS. – Becker College defeated Lesley University 9-0 in New England Collegiate Conference men's tennis action Saturday afternoon. The win lifts the Hawks record to 3-1 (3-1 NECC), while the Lynx fall to 0-5 (0-5 NECC).

In top doubles action, Brian Fradsham (West Boylston, Mass.) and Aaron Peterson (San Diego, Calif.) outlasted Niko Marcolini (Newbury, Mass.) and Jack Tortorici (Grass Valley, Calif.) by a score of 8-4. Francis Musick (Laurel Springs, N.J.) and Brittan Morris (Cedar Park, Texas) blanked Max Anthony (Cambridge, Mass.) and Alex Bonilla-Guevara (Cambridge, Mass.) in number two doubles, 8-0.

Peterson earned his second win on the day with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Marcolini in top singles play. Morris downed Anthony in number two singles with scores of 6-1, 6-1. In number three singles, Allison fought his way past Tortorici in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. Thomas Lanphear (Manchester, Maine) capped off the day with a victory over Alex Bonilla-Guevara, 6-0, 6-0.

Lesley will be back on the courts tomorrow with an NECC doubleheader with Mitchell College at noon on the campus of Regis College. Becker returns to the courts on Monday, April 11th with a home match against Wheelock College at 3:30 p.m.
