Men's Tennis Falls to Clean Sweep by Regis

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University found themselves at the losing end of a 9-0 sweep to Regis College this afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference action this afternoon at the Nicholas Athletics Center. The Lynx fall to 3-10 on the season and 2-6 in NECC play while the win propels the Pride to a 14-6 mark on the year and a perfect 7-0 record in conference matches.

In doubles play, the Pride's top duo of senior Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) and freshman Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) cruised past Lynx freshman Niko Marcellini (Newbury, Mass.) and sophomore Billy Baker (Sacramento, Calif.) 8-0, while sophomore Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.) and freshman Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) also posted an 8-0 victory over Lesley sophomore Harrison Sidell (Newhall, Calif.) and junior Jack Tortorici (Grass Valley, Calif.). Regis junior Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.) and sophomore Jarid Polley (Reading, Mass.) completed the clean sweep for the Pride as they recorded the third 8-0 score of doubles play as they topped Walker Panek (Carlsbad, Calif.) and James Webb (San Francisco, Calif.).

Regis scored 6-0, 6-0 victories in all singles matches as Beluch and Harrow claimed victories in number one and number two singles, respectively, while Cohen and Quattrociocchi picked up wins in third and fourth singles. Regis sophomores Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.) and Jeremy Morgenesser (Bayport, N.Y.) rounded out the day as they were victories in the fifth and sixth singles matches, respectively.

The Lynx will return to the court tomorrow as they wrap up their regular season with a non-conference match against Wentworth at the Nicholas Athletics Center at noon while the Pride will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Becker College for a noon start.
