Men's Tennis Falls to Regis

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College improved to a perfect 8-0 in New England Collegiate Conference play with a 9-0 sweep of Lesley University on Monday afternoon. The Pride move to 11-5 overall with the win while the Lynx fall to 0-9 and 0-7 in league games.

The Regis men's tennis team celebrated its annual Senior Day in a pre-match ceremony honoring seniors Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) and Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) for their contributions to Regis College and its athletic department.

Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) and Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) picked up an 8-0 sweep of Chris Hunt (San Diego, Calif.) and Billy Baker (Sacramento, Calif.) in No. 2 doubles, while Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.) and Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) added a win at No. 1 doubles by the matching score. The Pride picked up a point at No. 3 doubles via default.

In singles play, Parrish had his second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Billy Baker in No. 3 singles. Morgenbesser added a 6-0, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot over Harrison Sidell (Newhall, Calif.), and Jarid Polley (Reading, Mass.) swept Trevor Martin (Whitinsville, Mass.) in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2 singles. Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.) and John Corraccio (Wethersfield, Conn.) secured the final two points for the Pride with wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. The Pride were awarded a point at No. 6 singles by default.

Regis is back in action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Newbury College for an NECC matchup at 3:30 p.m. Lesley hosts Wheelock College at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.
