Head coach Paul Vasconcelos joined the Lesley community as its first ever men's soccer coach in the fall of 2006, building a program from its inaugural season and quickly turning it into a regional power culminating in a 2011 NCAA Tournament appearance.

In just the program's third year, 2008, the Lynx qualified for the North Atlantic Conference Tournament. In 2009 Vasconcelos brought his men's soccer team to the New England Collegiate Conference Championship. His 2009 team won a program-best 15 matches and earned a first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference bid, feats the Lynx would repeat a season later when Vasconcelos won his second straight NECC Coach of the Year honor.

In 2011 the Lynx won the program's first NECC Championship and received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the third straight season in which the team won 15 contests. He has coached 19 all-conference players along with four All-New England selections and two Conference Players of the Year.

The Lynx earned an ECAC postseason bid in the 2013 season and saw five players named All-Conference, including the Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Year.

Vasconcelos has been playing and coaching soccer for over 20 years.  As a player Vasconcelos was invited to train and play in Portuguese 3rd Division tournaments in Azores, Portugal. He has also toured with several teams in select tournaments in Spain and Portugal.

In 2002 he was appointed the assistant coach at Milton Academy where he stayed on for one season before leaving to become the assistant soccer coach at Emerson College. At Emerson he helped lead the Lions to their best record in program history in just his first year. He stayed at Emerson for three seasons leading the Lions to two straight GNAC Conference semifinals.

A member of the US Soccer Organization and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Vasconcelos holds the USSF National C License, KNVB Dutch Advanced Diploma, English FA Youth Badge, USSF National Youth license and NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma. He has been on the Massachusetts Olympic Developmental Program Staff for the past 8 years and is the Technical Director at Galway Rovers FC, a premier youth club based out of Cohasset, MA.

"I am excited about the soccer program here at Lesley University," Vasconcelos said. "My staff and I are dedicated to bringing top quality student-athletes to our program. We believe Lesley is an ideal place for quality student-athletes looking to play and compete at a high NCAA level.”
