Men's Soccer Earns No. 4 Seed in NECC Tournament, Hosts Regis on Wednesday

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University men's soccer team has earned the No. 4 seed in the New England Collegiate Conference Championship tournament and will host fifth-seeded Regis College on Wednesday at 8:00p at Edward Field. This marks the eighth straight season that the Lynx have qualified for the postseason tournament.

Defending champion Daniel Webster College (16-3-0, 8-0-0 NECC) has earned the top-seed while Elms College (8-10, 6-2 NECC) will play as the two-seed. The Blazers earned the second slot over Newbury College (10-8, 6-2 NECC), who will enter as the third-seed, after a 2-1 double-overtime win over the Nighthawks. Fifth-seeded Regis College (10-7-1, 4-4-0 NECC) and sixth-seeded Mitchell College (7-9-1, 4-4-0 NECC) round out the tournament participants.

Scouting Regis
Freshman Derek Triana powers the Pride offense with a team-leading eight goals and two assists while sophomore Brendan Plasczynski finished the regular season with five tallies and four assists. Junior keeper Manny Santiago has received the brunt of work in between the pipes for the Pride, starting all 18 games and compiling a 1.52 goals-against-average and a .768 save percentage.

Scouting Lesley
The Lynx have received eight goals apiece from senior Ryan Richardson (Santa Barbara, Calif.) and junior Harrison Sidell (Newhall, Calif.) while fellow juniors Chris Anderson (San Francisco, Calif.) and Mahmoud Chabarek (Allepo, Syria) have each pocketed three. Lynx senior keeper Chase Donley (Elizabethtown, Pa.) has three shutouts on the year while posting a 1.82 goals-against-average and .697 save percentage.

What's At Stake
The winner will head to Nashua, N.H. for a Semifinal match with the top-seeded Eagles on Friday at 2:00p. Lesley is attempting to make their eighth straight trip to the Semifinal Round while Regis is looking to make their second straight Semifinal appearance.
