CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University wrapped up their regular season in impressive fashion as the rolled to a 12-0 victory over Wheelock College on a cold, snowy afternoon at Edward Field. The win propels the Lynx to 9-5-4 on the season while the Wildcats finish their campaign at 0-13. Lesley sophomore Colin Zeigler (Waldmohr, Germany) paced the Lynx attack with four goals in the win.

Prior to the match, the Lynx celebrated Senior Day as they honored their three seniors Jordan Santos (Middlebury, Conn.), Herbin Berreondo (Brighton, Mass.), and Ray Cohen (Coventry, Conn.). In their four seasons, the three have combined for a 41-25-9 record, a New England Collegiate Conference Championship, an NCAA Tournament appearance, and have qualified for four NECC Tournaments.

Shortly after a Wheelock own goal put Lesley on the board, freshman Claudio Velez (Pittsfiled, Mass.) found the back of the net for his second goal of the season. Just three minutes later, junior Jack Tortorici (Grass Valley, Calif.) netted the first of his season when he completed a feed from classmate Ryan Richardson (Santa Barbara, Calif.).

Richardson got himself in the goal column less than three minutes later as he took a lead pass from Cohen and buried a right footed shot past the keeper to put the hosts up 4-0.

Richardson recorded his second marker of the match shortly after junior Tyler Zielinski (Belleville, N.J.) scored his second goal of the season.

At 29:03 in the half, Zeigler scored the first goal of his afternoon. The sophomore backed it up with two more goals in less than three minutes.

Junior Marcel Howard (Newport News, Va.) finished the Lynx scoring in the first half when he finished a feed from the top of the box by classmate Walker Panek (Carlsbad, Calif.).

Both Velez and Zeigler added tallies for the hosts in the second half to give the Lynx the 12-0 victory.

Wildcats senior Sunshine Shearer (English Harbor, Antigua) was credited with four saves in the loss while Lesley's Trevor Martin (Whitinsville, Mass.) earned the win as he split time with James Webb (San Francisco, Calif.).

Lesley will open up NECC postseason play on Wednesday as they have locked up the No. 3 seed and will play host to No. 6 Newbury College in the opening round.
