Sidell's Double OT Tally Propels Men's Soccer to Second Straight Win

Nashua, N.H. – Lesley University sophomore Harrison Sidell (Newhall,Calif.) scored in the 106th minute to send the Lynx home 2-1 winners in double overtime over Rivier University this afternoon in non-conference play. Lesley, winners of two straight, improve to 4-4-3 on the year while the Raiders fall to 1-9-0 with their third straight overtime loss at home.

Sidell got above the Raiders backline as he headed home a free kick from classmate Chris Anderson (Daly City, Calif.) to net the game winner.

The assist was Anderson's second of the game as he set up Erik Johansen (West Harrison, N.Y.) in the 79th minute as the sophomore forward scored a goal in the second straight game to tie the match at 1-1. Johansen now has a team-high four goals on the season.

Johansen's tally came on the heels of a goal by Rivier senior Dan Connelly (Bedford, N.H.) as he gave the hosts a brief 1-0 lead. Connelly broke the scoreless tie when he placed a free kick into the upper right corner in the 77th minute of play.

Lesley junior Trevor Martin (Whitinsville, Mass.) made one save in his first start of the season before being relieved by freshman James Webb (San Francisco, Calif.) who did not need to make a save in his collegiate debut. Rivier sophomore goalkeeper Gary Archambault (Auburn, N.H.) made eight saves for the Raiders.

The Lynx slightly outshot the Raiders, 20-17 and also held a 4-3 edge on the corner kick opportunities.

Lesley will return home to Cambridge on Wednesday night as they play host to Fitchburg State University. Kickoff is set for 8:00p. Rivier will enjoy a full week of rest as they will travel to Lasell College on Saturday, October 11 for their next scheduled contest.
