Santos, Berreondo, Cohen to Lead Men's Soccer in 2014

CAMBRIDGE, Mass – Lesley University head men's soccer coach Paul Vasconcelos has announced the three team captains for the 2014 season. Senior midfielder Jordan Santos (Middlebury, Conn.) joins classmates Herbin Berreondo (Brighton, Mass.) and Ray Cohen (Coventry, Conn.) as the leaders of the Lynx in 2014.

"These three young men are the only hold overs from our championship season in 2011," said Vasconcelos of the selection. "Each of them bring something unique to the program that will help us grow."

Santos begins his senior year after an impressive junior year where he was a New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference First Team selection and National Soccer Coaches Association of America New England All-Region team selection. "Jordan has been a mainstay over his career here at Lesley and has been one of the reasons for our success on and off the field over the last three years." said the head coach.

Herbin has been a staple in the backfield for most of his career with 30 career starts. "Herbin is a great student-athlete," said Vasconcelos. "We have enjoyed watching his progression over the last three years. He is very deserving of the captaincy."

Ray Cohen returns for his senior after starting the bulk of matches in his time her in Cambridge. "Ray just wants to compete. He has matured a lot in his time here and we look forward to seeing what he brings to the group."

"I am really looking forward to a productive relationship between our coaching staff, captains, and team," Vasconcelos continued. "We are excited to work hard for a successful season come fall."
