CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University men's soccer team improved to 3-1-1 in New England Collegiate Conference competition with a 2-0 victory over Wheelock College. Ari Sinanis (GUILFORD, Conn./Guilford) scored what would be the game-winning goal midway through the first half.

In the 25th minute, Sinanis netted his team-leading seven goal of the season to give Lesley a 1-0 first half lead.  The goal went unassisted.

Less than ten minutes later at 32:04, Lynx senior captain Scott Wheeler (EAST HAMPTON, Conn./East Hampton) was given a chance to put the Lynx up 2-0 with a penalty kick attempt.  Wheeler fire the shot past Wildcats keeper Victor Kashouh (PROVIDENCE, R.I./Classical) for his third goal of the season.

Defensively, Lesley held Wheelock to just seven shot attempts while the combination of Max Perkins (LEXINGTON, Mass./Lexington) and Nigel Leahy (NEW PALTZ, N.Y./New Paltz) had to make just two saves.

The Lynx will take on last year's regular season NECC champions Mitchell College on Saturday, October 17 for a 1:00 pm match.
