OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Lesley University men's soccer team fell to SUNY at Old Westbury 2-1 this past Saturday and dropped their 2009 record to 4-2-1.  Lesley's record remains above .500 which is the latest in a season that a Lynx men's soccer team has held that mark.

The men's soccer team immediately felt the presence of the return of senior defender Zach Rocha (NEW BEDFORD, Mass./New Bedford) as Rocha assisted on a goal by Scott Wheeler (EAST HAMPTON, Conn./East Hampton).  Rocha came off the bench and sent a pass to Wheeler that was redirected to the back of the net for the first goal of the match at 28:14.

Later in the first half, the Panthers got on the scoreboard with a goal by Fabian Santibanez (OYSTER BAY, N.Y./Oyster Bay) that was assisted by teammates Mathias Coni (OCEANSIDE, N.Y./Oceanside) and Roland White (BALDWIN, N.Y./Baldwin).

With the score at 1-1, Lesley and Old Westbury went into halftime tied.

In the second half, Coni assisted on the game-winning goal for the Panthers in the 68th minute for his second assist of the match.  He sent a pass to Edwin Mejia (UNIONDALE, N.Y./Uniondale) who registered the tally.

For the Lynx, Zach Almeida-Beers (REHOBOTH, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth Regional) made six saves in net and let up two goals.  His counterpart Darian Bryan (ELMONT, N.Y./Elmont Memorial) made five saves and allowed one goal.

Lesley will travel to Emerson College on Wednesday, September 23 for a 6:00 pm rematch for the Charles River Cup.  Old Westbury next plays host to City Tech on September 21.
