CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University men's soccer team faced off against a talented Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Gordon College squad and lost to the Fighting Scots 3-0 after giving up all three tallies in the second stanza.  The Lynx suffered their first loss and move to 3-1-1 while Gordon improved to 2-3 (1-0 TCCC).

Gordon controlled the offense for much of the game, keeping the ball in the Lesley half of the field with constant pressure.  The Scots outshot the Lynx 26-11 in both halves combined.

In the second half, Gordon found inherited a 1-0 lead after a Lesley defender deflected a ball crossed through the goalie box into his own goal at the match's 54th minute.

Later in the half, Gordon's offense put two more balls to the back of the net to solidify the victory over the Lynx.  At 79:36, senior Joel Spruance (LEDYARD, Conn.) was part of a three-on-one advantage and weaved past the final defender and chipped the ball past Lesley keeper Zachary Almeida-Beers (REHOBOTH, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth Regional).

Eight minutes later, Matt Horth (AKRON, Ohio) scored Gordon's final goal and was assisted by Jon Clancy (WOODBRIDGE, Ill.).

Lynx keeper Almeida-Beers finished with eight saves on the day.

The Lynx will host Regis College on September 16 at 8:00 pm while Gordon hosts the University of New England on September 19.
