Mead nets game-winner against Johnson State

JOHNSON, Vt. - Junior midfielder Sam Mead (Worthing, ENGLAND) came through in a big way against Johnson State to help the Lynx win 2-1.

Mead assisted freshman Tyler Reeves (Coventry, Conn.) on the game's first goal in the 22nd minute.  Mead's shot was saved by Badgers goalie Andrew Lane but Reeves was there to kick the deflected ball to the back of the net.

After a game-tying goal by Zach Lees, Mead provided the Lynx with the game-winning goal in the middle of the second half as he poked his shot over the keeper.  Lane was on the ground following a sequence at the top of the penalty box, giving Mead an open shot to take the lead.

Lesley goalie Zachary Almeida-Beers (Rehoboth, Mass.) once again had a solid game between the posts as he stopped five shots on goal and faced a total of fourteen shots from the Badgers.

The Lynx improved to 6-6-1 (4-3-0 NAC) and will look to continue their success on Sunday October 14 against Castleton State College.
