Lesley Men #4 Seed, Host #5 Wheelock Tuesday

Cambridge, Mass-The Lesley University Men's Basketball team finished their 2017-2018 regular season with a 12-13 record overall and 7-7 in conference games. The results have earned the Lynx the fourth seed in the NECC Men's Basketball Championship Tournament.

The Lynx have performed admirably considering the loss of forward Xeo Golding to a season-ending injury last month. Golding's loss has resulted in a number of other players having to raise their game to counteract his absence. Five members of the roster saw action in all 25 games this season; seniors Marquise Johnson and Will Gibson, juniors Joey Martin and William Cuffee and freshman Nathaniel Chambers all seeing significant miunutes. Martin has the highest points per game average of 15.3% and is fifth in the conference for 3-point percentage with 38.9%. Lesley is currently on a three game losing streak but they will be hoping to snap that record when they host Wheelock College in the first round on Tuesday, February 20 at 8pm.

Lesley has good reason to be confident going into this first round game as they have beaten fifth seeded Wheelock College in two conference games this season. The Lynx won their home fixture by 32 points on January 14 and while the game at Wheelock was a much a tighter affair on January 27, Lesley came out on top on a 70-64 scoreline.

On Friday, February 16, Lesley Athletics Sports Information Office held a press conference with head coach Chris Giordano and three members of the men's basketball team to talk about their season to date and the upcoming NECC Championship Tournament.  Please view complete video at the link below:
