ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Senior guard Devon Mayo (Newport News, Va.) and sophomore forward Xeo Golding (Windermere, Fla.) were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) All-Conference Second Team, announced Monday afternoon.
The pair helped guide the Lynx to the program's best record of 16-11 including a 9-6 NECC record that saw them earn their first post-season appearance in six years claiming the third seed. Additionally, Mayo and Golding also helped lead Lesley to program's first sweep of Regis College with a 61-58 win and a decisive 92-83 victory during the regular season before knocking off the Pride, 69-68, in the first round of the NECC Tournament.
Mayo, who earned All-NECC Second Team honors for a second consecutive season, was one of the conference's best three-point shooters, shooting an outstanding 39.8 from beyond the arc against NECC opponents. Shooting 41.8% from the field during his two-year career at Lesley, Mayo The Virginia native capped off a remarkable career netting 900 points – 442 during the 2016-2017 season and 250 against conference opponents.
Golding was named to the All-NECC Second Team for the first time in his two year career at Lesley after earning NECC Rookie of the Week honors three times as a freshman in 2015-2017. During his sophomore campaign, Golding recorded a career year tallying 392 points – 227 against conference foes – to finish 12th amongst conference leaders in overall points. Scoring in double figures 18 times, the Central Florida native recorded 20-plus points six times over the course of the 27-game season.
Sophomore forward Will Cuffee (Amherst, Mass.) rounded out the Lynx representatives to earn All-Conference recognition being named to the NECC All-Sportsmanship Team.
