Hot Start Lifts Falcons Over Men's Basketball

LYNN, Mass. – A balanced scoring attack that saw 12 different players record points lifted Fisher College to a 78-43 win over Lesley University tonight in non-conference action tonight at Fectau-Leary Gymnasium. The win improves the Falcons to 13-4 on the season while the Lynx fall to 1-9 on the season.

Lesley senior Justin Rosa (East Brunswick, N.J.) scored all of his team-high 12 points from beyond the arc to go with his seven rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Terrell Toney (Lakewood, Wash.) came off the bench to score eight points while senior Nikalus Oliver (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) grabbed a team-best eight rebounds. Junior Chris Barletta (Valrico, Fla.) finished with six points and led all players with five assists on the night. Sophomore Nathan Jackson (Dumfries, Va.) recorded a career-high six points and four boards in a reserve role.

Fisher junior Jameel Yousif (Chicago, Ill.) finished with a double-double with a game-high 13 points and ten caroms while senior Chris Green (Middle Island, N.Y.) chipped in with 12 points and three assists. Junior Geodice Ortiz (Denver, Colo.) joined Yousif and Green in double-figures as he recorded ten points and finished one rebound shy of a double-double, grabbing nine boards. Sophomore Darrell Grady (Staten Island, N.Y.) and junior Tyler Shular (Norwalk, Conn.) finished with eight points apiece.

Barletta recorded the first bucket of the game to give the Lynx an early 2-0 lead, but the Falcons answered back with a 15-0 run and never trailed again on their way to the 78-43 win.

Fisher knocked down 12 (12-of-29) triples on the night and shot 43-percent from the floor while holding Lesley to just 30-percent. The Falcons hauled in 13 offensive rebounds that led to 16 second chance points while holding a 48-37 total rebounding edge on the night.

The Lynx will return to New England Collegiate Conference action on Saturday when they head to Becker College at 1:00p. The Falcons will be off until next Tuesday when they host the University of Maine at Machias at 5:00p.
