CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University junior Casey Blanchard (Bernardstown, Mass.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, December 7th. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations, Roger Crosley, made the announcement in the conference Weekly Report.
Blanchard helped the Lynx get in the win column following a 1-3 week last week. Lesley's win came in the NECC opener in which the Lynx defeated Newbury College 67-65.
Lesley will return to action on Saturday when they host Gordon College at 5:00p in the final game of the first semester.

The rookie has worked his way into a starting role for the Lynx. At Plymouth State, Blanchard went 3-of-4 from downtown on his way to a career-best 15 points. The guard also chipped in with eight points in a 67-65 win over Newbury this past Thursday.
