SANTO DOMINGO, DR – Jesus Trejo, Lesley University's all-time scoring and rebounding leader, has landed his first professional contract, signing on to play for the Leones de Santo Domingo of the Ligo de Nacional Baloncesto (LNB).

The 2011 Lesley graduate and most prolific player in Lynx history has started his first season in the capital of the Dominican Republic, where he has dual citizenship, with the first-place Leones, now 5-0 in 2011.

The Methuen, MA-native and 2007 Methuen High graduate became Lesley's all-time leading scorer with 1,246 points and is the school's career rebounding leader with 1,060 boards.

He makes the leap from Lesley to the LNB, where he'll play for former NBA player and head coach Sam Vincent. The Leones head coach won a championship with the Boston Celtics as a player in 1986 and served as the head coach of the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats during the 2007-08 season.

Trejo, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound post player, was named All-New England Collegiate Conference First Team as a junior in 2009-10 and All-NECC Honorable Mention as a sophomore and again as a senior in 2010-11. He led the Lynx in rebounding in all four of his seasons, averaging a double-double of 13.9 points and 10.9 rebounds in his all-league campaign as a junior.

The LNB is a nine-team league spanning the Dominican Republic. Trejo's Leones recently improved to 5-0, with the center seeing his first action of the season, in his team's 86-78 win over Caneros del Este.
