The Lynx pull out the 7-5 victory behind 3 RBIs from both McElroy & Gryniewicz

Lexington, MA- The Lynx move to 9-14 on the season as they take down the Bulldogs of Dean College, 7-5. 

 

Inside the Game:

  • The Bulldogs took an early 1-0 lead, with Cruz scoring on a fielder's choice. 
  • The Lynx quickly gained the lead, with a Drew Gryniewicz triple and Christian McElroy sac fly to move the game to 2-1. 
  • A Gryniewicz single in the fourth pushed the lead to 3-1 as he drove home Jake Samela.
  • The Bulldogs mounted a comeback in the fifth and sixth innings, capped off by a King double to move the game to 5-3 Dean. 
  • The Lynx continued to battle, as a 2 RBI single from McElroy along with an Adam Budorick sac fly pushed to Lynx to a 6-5 lead. 
  • Trevor Faison then scored in the seventh on a fielder's choice to give the Lynx an insurance run at 7-5. 
  • Freshman Kolten Moyer slammed the door shut in the ninth, striking out 2 in route to his first career save. 

 

Lynx Highlights:

  • Drew Gryniewicz and Christian McElroy combined to drive in 6 of the Lynx 7 runs on the night. 
  • Trevor Faison, Jake Samela and Justin Dennett got in on the action as well, each recording 2 hits on the night.
  • Starting pitcher Dylan Langston provided length on the mound for the Lynx, going 8 innings while striking out 5 en route to the win on the mound. 
  • Kolten Moyer continues his stellar freshman season, recording his first career save and reducing his ERA to 0.93 over 9 2/3 innings out of the pen. 

 

The Lynx (9-14, 0-3) are back on to conference play this weekend, as they take on the Lions of Eastern Nazarene College in a doubleheader Saturday at Libby Field and a single seven inning game at home on Sunday. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is set for 1pm.
