Lynx Shut Down by Mariners

GAME OVERVIEW:

NEW LONDON, CT. – The Lesley Lynx Baseball team were shut out by the Mitchell Mariners 17-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Lynx fall to 13-21-1 overall this year and 18-1 in conference play, while the Mariners advance to 23-7 on the season and 6-2 in the NECC.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • In a makeup of an April 9th rainout, the Lynx batted at the home team on Mitchell's home turf. It did not help them though, as the Mariners did away with any advantage right out the gate. Mitchell scored eight runs over the first two innings, knocking Lynx starter Nate Trudnich out after one and a third. Bo Yaworski had two runs batted in, while Hunter Yaworski had three over the first two innings.
  • Mitchell would go on to score nine more times. Hunter Yaworski finished with four RBI, while Matt Falk had three. Lelo Martinez recorded three hits and Falk and both Yaworskis had two apiece. Bo Yawosrki and Dougie Delacruz each scored three runs.
  • Daniel Driscoll improved to 4-0 on the mound for Mitchell, going five scoreless innings. He allowed only two hits and struck out eight Lynx. Justin Dennett had two of Lesley's three hits in the game, with Adam Budorick picking up the other.
