Comeback at Colby-Sawyer Extends Baseball Win Streak to Four

GAME OVERVIEW:

NEW LONDON, NH. – The Lesley Lynx Baseball team kept their bats hot in an 11-6 victory over the Colby-Sawyer Chargers on Sunday afternoon. The fourth straight Lynx win brings them to 13-14 this season, while the Chargers fall to 6-16.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx actually appeared to be in trouble for the first half of the game after giving up a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning. The Chargers loaded the bases quickly and Jesse MacGlashing drove in two of those runners with a base hit. Another would score on a wild pitch and MacGlashing then came around on a ground out to make it 4-0.
  • After one inning from starter Patrick Teasdale, Jacob Nemergut came in for seven brilliant relief innings. Nemergut shut the Chargers down, allowing only two runs near the end of his day while striking out ten. The Lesley offense broke out to support Nemergut, scoring a total of nine runs while he was in the game to hand him his fourth win this year.
  • After an RBI single in the fifth inning by Ian Dempsey (his tenth RBI of the week), the Lynx broke out with an eight-run sixth inning. Ronnie James an RBI double to kick off the scoring. James Brandon, Adam Budorick, and Colin McCarthy all also contributed RBI hits, while Matthew Ceruti drew a bases-loaded walk.
  • James had another run-scoring hit in the eighth inning, this time a single, while Dylan Langston also added an RBI knock up the middle. The Chargers would pick up two runs in the ninth inning to knock Nemergut out of the game, but they did not have enough to draw out the comeback attempt.
