GAME OVERVIEW:

READING, MA. – The Lesley Lynx Baseball team kept the Elms Blazers off of the scoreboard on Tuesday night, winning 4-0 while allowing only two hits. The Lynx advance to 5-7 this season, while the Blazers fall to 3-5.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• The Lynx struck quickly in the bottom of the first inning, as James Brandon drove in Andrew Gryniewicz with a triple after the latter led off with a base hit. Brandon then came in with Lesley's second run after Ronnie James grounded into a fielder's choice. Brandon would then drive in his second run in the third inning, grounding into a double play with runners on first and third to again send Gryniewicz home.
• Dylan Langston threw three perfect innings to start the game for Lesley, facing all nine of the Blazers lineup one time. He did not allow any baserunners and struck out three. Patrick Teasdale came in for two scoreless innings, allowing a walk and a runner to recah on an error for Elms's first baserunners of the night. Teasdale earned the win after getting out of the jam to conserve the shutout.
• Gryniewicz later drove in a run of his own, doubling to score Ian Dempsey for the fourth Lynx run in the bottom of the seventh. It would be the end of the scoring for Lesley, but it put a cap on a great 3-for-4 night for Gryniewicz. Colin McCarthy also went 3-for-4 for the Lynx.
• Jacob Nemergut came in to relieve Teasdale and threw three scoreless innings, though he did allow the Blazers first hit of the night. Elms would only pick up one more hit later and were unable to score a run against a strong collective effort from the Lynx pitching staff.
