Lynx Can't Overcome First Inning Struggles in Loss to Marymount

GAME OVERVIEW:

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The Lesley Lynx Baseball team fell 19-5 in the last game of their road series with Marymount University on Monday afternoon. The Lynx fall to 4-7 overall this year, while the Saints advance to 14-1.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Marymount had this one wrapped up early after scoring ten times in the bottom of the first inning. The first six batters reached for the Saints, with Jimmy Baker doing big damage before an out was recorded. Baker drove in three runs with a double.
  • Jordan Dickson kept thigns rolling for the Saints in the big inning with an inside-the-park three-run homer. Ryan Lee added another homer later in the inning. Every run was earned and attributed to Lynx starter Evan Swift, who only lasted the one frame.
  • The Lynx got on the board in the fourth inning, thanks to Ronnie James's first home run of the season, a two-run shot that scored James Brandon. Cal Caruso, William Lombardo, and Ryan McSally all also picked up RBI for the Lynx on the day.
  • Baker led his side with five runs batted in, while Alex Lemery added four from the leadoff spot. Stephen Gerade picked up his second win of the season after going three scoreless innings with four strikeouts.
