GAME OVERVIEW:

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – The Lesley Lynx Baseball team could not defeat the Marymount University Saints in a doubleheader sweep on Sunday evening. Marymount easily took Game 1 11-0 and followed it up with a 19-11 win in Game 2. The Lynx drop to 4-6 so far this season, while the Saints advance to an impressive 13-1.

INSIDE GAME 1:

• Kenny Sysyn delivered a masterful performance to earn Marymount the win in the day's first game. Sysyn went the distance, shutting the Lynx out while allowing only one hit. He struck out six batters and walked only one.
• Cal Caruso picked up Lesley's only hit on the day in the top of the first and the Lynx only managed two more baserunners over the final six innings.
• Five Marymount hitters collected two hits on the day, with Alex Lemery leading the way at the top of the order. Lemery went 2-for-3 in game one, with a stolen base, two walks and two runs batted in. 
• Dylan Langston picked up the loss for the Lynx after allowing four runs in four innings. Eduardo Eble-Lacoutoure allowed most of Marymount's damage, as seven runs came across to score against him in one inning of relief work.

INSIDE GAME 2:

• The Lynx woke up in game two, scoring three times in the top of the first to get out ahead. Ronnie James and Christian Vignola both drew bases-loaded-walks and Andrew Gryniewicz then drove in a third run with a base hit.
• Unfortunately for the Lynx, Marymount's bats were also going in game two. The Saints scored at least two runs in each of the first five innings and held a 16-4 lead by the top of the fifth.
• Lesley did have a big inning of their own, scoring six times in the top of the fifth. Interestingly, only one run was scored as the result of a hit. William Lomardo reached on an error to drive in Langston, then Ian Spillane and Caruso followed up with more bases-loaded-walks. Colin McCarthy later grounded into a fielder's choice to score Lombardo and James then singled to drive in Spillane. Langston closed the scoring with a sac fly to send Caruso home.
• Lemery scored fvie times in game two for Marymount, while Bryce Smith drove in four runs on two hits, one of which was a home run.

The Lynx play their final game of the road trip tomorrow, Monday March 14th, against Marymount at 11 AM.
