THE LEAD –  The Lynx hosted a doubleheader against Emmanuel College for their last home court matchup of the season last night.

GAME 1 HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lesley and Emmanuel started the first set going point for point, until Emmanuels Seana Phillips had four aces in a row to give the Saints the lead. After a 12 point run the saints took a 19-3 lead, going on to win the set 25-6.
  • Lesley stayed within a five point range of Emmanuel to start the second set. After a few unanswered runs, Emmanuel pulled ahead and took the second set 25-9.
  • Lesley took the first point of the third set, Emmanuel answered with an 11 point run. Lesley battled back but lost the set 25-16.   

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Maeve Gaffny lead the saints with seven kills on the match.
  • Maya Barthel contributed 20 assists to lead the Saints to a win.
  • Rayann Fatahi lead the Lynx with two kills and six digs.

GAME 2 HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Lesley and Emmanuel again started the first set point for point, until Emmanuel pulled ahead 11-3. Lesley went on a four point run, lead by Sinead Thomas who recorded three aces in a row. Emmanuel answered, and won the first set 25-10 after a seven point run.
  • Emmanuel took a quick 8-1 lead to start the second set, winning 25-7.
  • The Saints took another early lead, coming in with an 8-3 score. Emmanuel continued to pull ahead, only allowing Lesley within five points the entire match. Clinching the win in three sets with a 25-11 score to end the evening.   

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Gaffny and Brielle Hardy led the Saints with eight kills a piece.
  • Emma Welch recorded sic digs for the Lynx.
  • Welch and Marrin Gorgone recorded a pair of kills each.

The Lynx are back on the court Sunday in their last match of the season, against Husson University.
