Women's Volleyball Loses to NEC in NECC Semifinal

GAME OVERVIEW:

HENNIKER, NH. – The Lesley Women's Volleyball team saw their season come to an end on Thursday night in a 3-0 loss to top seed New England College in the NECC Semifinal. The Pilgrims move on to face Eastern Nazarene in the championship match on Sunday.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • It was all Pilgrims in the first set, which they eventually won 25-3. Amber Thi served a nine point run, followed by an eight point run from Jaycie Kodama. Thi had four aces in her run while Kodama had three. Sydney Hart picked up the only two kills for the Lynx in the set.
  • Lesley stayed in the second set to begin with, battling to a 5-4 defecit before NEC took over. Shirita Wimberly and Kodama put runs together to ger some distance on Lesley. The Pilgrims picked up six total aces in the second set, winning 25-9.
  • The Lynx played their best in the last set of their season, another NEC win by a 25-11 score. They scored the first point before Sophie Palmer served a short run culminating in three aces that the Lynx could not recover from.
  • Hart led the Lynx with five kills, while Tatiana Sampson led the Pilgrims with seven. Kenzie Barron led NEC in assists with nine and tied for the team lead in aces (5) with Kodama.
