Lynx Fall to Pilgrims in Three Sets

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. – The Lesley Women's Volleyball fell in three sets in their regular season finale to New England College on Saturday afternoon. The Lynx fall to 0-17 this season and 0-3 in the NECC, while the Pilgrims advance to 18-6 overall and clinch the NECC with a 3-0 conference record.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • NEC took a major lead in the first set, starting out on a 7-0 run served by Kenzie Barron. The Lynx picked up a few points before the Pilgrims went on another major run, this time lead by Tihani Ehia who served fourteen straight points. Ehia picked up four aces in the run and led her team to a 25-6 win.
  • Lesley started out strong in the second set, going up 3-1 early before NEC pulled ahead again. Amaya Avaloz served a six point run to pull back ahead. The Lynx held strong, scoring sixteen points, but were put down by Avaloz again late in the set. Lesley pulled within three points before Avaloz served another five point run, including two aces. NEC took the second set 25-16.
  • The Lynx once again held strong in the third set, staying within five points of the Pilgrims until Samantha Vargas got her turn serving. Vargas served eleven straight points and Lesley was only able to score one more before NEC put them away 25-8. Vargas picked up four aces in her run.
