Lynx Fall to Conference Opponent Mitchell

GAME OVERVIEW:

NEW LONDON, CT. – The Lesley Women's Volleyball lost 3-0 to the Mitchell College Mariners in their final conference road match of the season on Saturday morning. The Lynx fall to 0-16 this season and 0-2 in the NECC, while the Mariners advance to 5-13 overall and 1-1 in the conference.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Mitchell took control from the jump, as Lesley was unable to reach double digit points in any of the three sets. Claire Binfield helped her team out to a 5-0 lead and also served a second five point run at the end of the set. Binfield picked up five aces to lead Mitchell a 25-9 set one win.
  • Lesley took a 2-0 lead in the second set, but were then slowed down by a 10 point run served by Allison Blum. Blum collected three of Mitchell's five aces in the second set, which ended with the same score as the first to put Mitchell up 2-0.
  • The third set was a little closer to start, but the Mariners still built up a 10-6 lead before they broke it open. Julianna Repaci, Binfield, and Brianna McDermott each served five point runs that were only broken up by two Lesley points to finish the set 25-8.
