Lynx Fall to Vikings in Three Sets

GAME OVERVIEW:

CAMBRIDGE, MA. – The Lesley Women's Volleyball team fell to the Salem State Vikings in three sets on Friday night. The Lynx drop to 0-15 overall this season and the Vikings advance to 5-17.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx played their best to open the match, though they still dropped the first set 25-15. They battled back after Pamela Diaz led the Vikings to an 8-1 lead early, but they let things get away from them in the end as Salem State picked up points in chunks and Lesley was only able to get one at a time.
  • The second set was another win for Salem State, this time thanks to a dominant run by Ella Speidel to close it. Speidel served the final ten points in a row and picked up three aces over the stretch to lead the Vikings to a 25-9 win.
  • Lesley was only ever able to score more than one point per server once in the final set, while Salem State again went on several runs. Speidel served her team to a 6-0 lead, again picking up three aces. She also served a three point run near the end of the set with two more aces.
  • Megan Lorenze led the Lynx with five kills on the day, while Sydney Hart had four. Hana Hogan led her side with nine kills, with Eva Haralabatos earning twenty assists and Speidel picking up eight total aces.
