Lynx Fall in Three Sets in First Conference Match

GAME OVERVIEW:

QUINCY, MA. – The Lesley Women's Volleyball team dropped their first conference match of the season, falling in three sets to the Eastern Nazarene Lions. The Lynx drop to 0-14 overall this season and 0-1 in the NECC, while the Lions advance to 12-9 and 1-1 in the conference.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Eastern Nazarene jumped out to a 10-0 lead right awawy in the first set and held the Lynx at bay from then on. Five of the ten points were collected on aces served by Amya Altman. Emma Graves had two aces on a later run as well to help the Lions to a 25-4 first set win.
  • Lesley was able to score first in the second set, but were never able to string together more than two points at a time. Graves added two more aces, while Ruth Aguilar picked up one to close out the set 25-8.
  • The Lynx had their most success in the final set, with Antonia Kieran serving a five point run in the middle of the match. It was surrounded by two separate runs each for Piper Bolnar and Telma Zelaya that were enough to take the final set 25-14.
  • Sydney Hart led the Lynx with five kills on the day. Anna Burbach was the leader for the Lions, totaling eleven kills, while Ruth Aguilar picked up twelve assists.
