Lynx Fall to Dean in Three Close Sets

GAME OVERVIEW:

FRANKLIN, MA. – The Lesley Women's Volleyball team played their closest match of the season on Wednesday night, but still fell 3-0 to the Dean Bulldogs.. The Lynx fall to 0-13 overall, while the Bulldogs advance to 3-13.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Set number one was close for the first half, with Tallin Goldberg serving a five point run to put the Lynx in the lead. Lesley gave up two late runs that gave Dean nine points of a ten point stretch and allowed them to build a 20-10 lead. The Bulldogs had their easiest time of the night, winning the first set 25-14.
  • The Lynx came roaring back in the second set, jumping out to a 7-1 lead capitalized by two service aces by Megan Lorenze. Emily Ball and Emily Larouche put together strings of points to get the Bulldogs back in it and built a 14-11 lead before the Lynx were able to turn the tides back. Neither team was able to put together a run longer than three points for the rest of the set, but the Bulldogs were able to hold off the Lynx in the end, winning the set 25-23.
  • Lesley held strong in the final set as well, battling back in the third set after giving up an 11-7 lead to Dean. Lorenze served another good run of seven points that included three aces, but Larouche brought Dean back with a run of their own. The final set was a back and forth affair until the very end, when Dean took five of the final seven points scored to win the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
  • Sydney Hart led the Lynx with another double-digit kill match, tallying twelve. Lorenze led with six aces, while Goldberg had thirteen assists. Sari Albury led her team in kills with sixteen, with Anabella Driscoll collecting twelve assists.
