Lynx Drop Three Sets to St. Joseph

GAME OVERVIEW:

WEST HARTFORD, CT. – The Lesley Women's Volleyball team lost in three sets to the St. Joseph (CT) Blue Jays on Thursday night. The Lynx fall to 0-10 on the season, while the Blue Jays advance to 3-6.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Both teams were keeping pace to begin the first set, but the Blue Jays picked it up once they reached a 7-5 lead. They doubled their lead on a seven point run served by Claire Quinn and the Lynx were unable to put up any large strings of points from there. St. Joseph took the first set 25-11.
  • Set number two was all Blue Jays, with Lesley only mustering three points. After going up 10-3, Shannon Carey served the next fifteen straight points, which included five aces.
  • The Lynx looked stronger in the third set, but St. Joseph was able to string together some runs to keep Lesley out of the game. Nicole Albert picked up seven points near the end, though the Lynx were able to squeeze in five more points before the Blue Jays closed it out.
  • Sydney Hart led the Lynx in kills with five, while Carey led her side with seven and Albert picked up fifteen assists. Carey also had nine aces and Albert added five.

UP NEXT:

The Lynx are off until October 9th when they travel to Salem State for a tri-match, along with Curry College, that sees the Lynx play at 1 and 3 PM.
