Tennis comes up short against first-place Wildcats

CAMBRIDGE, MA - Lesley women's tennis dropped a tight 5-4 decision to first-place Bay Path in New England Collegiate Conference women's tennis action Saturday afternoon.

Lesley captured a pair of doubles victories, as the team of Nicole Smith and Brenna Donovan topped Symone Watson and Carolina Ynguanzo, 8-2, and Hagar Memlies and Christina Constantine upended Lianna Loveitt and Shanella Sheheen, 8-6.

Playing minus first singles player Courtney Mullen, Michelle Side moved up to the top singles spot to knock off Lauren Hangasky, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2. Memlies bested Loveitt for a second time in fifth singles, gutting out a 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-6 win in the Lynx only other singles victory.

Lesley falls to 3-2 on the season, 2-2 in NECC play. Marty Morrissey's Lynx return to the hardcourt on Thursday in non-conference action at Emerson at 3:30 p.m.
