THE LEAD – After falling to #11 Amherst earlier in the week, the Lesley University women's soccer team bounced back putting up eight goals against Vermont State Lyndon in this afternoon's 8-0 victory in the 2023 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) opener. Seven different players recorded goals, and the Lynx outshot the Hornets 52-2 in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Haile Carrillo-Hayes opened up the scoring for the Lynx just four minutes into the match, with an assist to Chase Livesey.
- Just two minutes later Abby Kalou nets one in off a cross pass from defender Sacha Porter.
- Porter wasn't done and five minutes later scored an unassisted goal.
- Kalou sent in the fourth goal for the Lynx at the 12 minute mark, unassisted.
- At the halfway point of the first half, Zoe Curtaz sends a through ball to Kylie Chagnon and sets the Lynx up 5-0.
- Rookie defenseman Naya Sellas sends a distance shot up and over the Hornets goalie for her first goal on the season.
- In the 44th minute rookie Audrey Burgmaier scored off a cross pass into the box from Kika Diaz.
- The Lynx scored once more in the 88th minute with an unassisted goal from rookie Marissa De La Rosa.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Kalou recorded two goals in the game, matching her career high of two goals.
- Rookies Sellas, Burgmaier, and De La Rosa contributed a goal each to the match, recording their first collegiate goals.

- The Lynx are back on the pitch Wednesday, with an out of conference road match against Wellesley College.
