Lynx Win Sixth Straight in Shut Out of Rhode Island

GAME OVERVIEW:

CAMBRIDGE, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Soccer team picked up their sixth shutout win in a row, this time beating the Rhode Island College Anchorwomen 1-0. The Lynx advance to 12-3-1 this season, while the Anchorwomen fall to 3-13.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx got the only got of the match early on and were unable to capitalize on any opportunities for the rest of the game. Ariana Bunch got her first start since September 12th and took advantage of the opportunity to score her first goal since the season opener on September 1st.
  • Lesley took the majority of the game's shots, despite only converting one of them. They outshot the Anchorwomen eleven to five in the first half, but RIC's defense tightened up to allow only four shots in the second half.
  • Bunch led the Lynx in shots with five and Jayde Fernandes led her side with five shots as well. Lauren Lacy picked up her fourth win of her rookie season, splitting the shutout in this match with Audrey Calhoun. Reagan Kerecz was handed her thirteenth loss of the year.
  • The Lynx are yet to allow a goal in October, as they have been led by strong back line of Kerrie Larson, Sophie Smurthwaite, Kayleigh Chicas, and Alex Carruth.
