Lynx Shut Out Buccaneers 4-0

GAME OVERVIEW:

BUZZARD'S BAY, MA. -- The Lesley Women's Soccer team picked up their fourth straight shut out win against the Mass Maritime Buccaneers on Tuesday night by a 4-0 score. The Lynx advance to 10-3-1 this season, while the Buccaneers drop to 2-8-2.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx were aggressive from the start, taking fourteen of their thirty-two total shots in the first half. Claire Hounslow made the Buccaneers pay on the team's first shot of the game, scoring her fourth goal of the season off an assist by Isabella Danna.
  • Lesley got a second goal in the first half from sophomore Katie Denger. Denger got her second start of the season and made the most of it, scoring her first collegiate goal in the 21st minute.
  • Abby Kalou added to her impressive rookie season with two goals in the second half. Her first came in the 64th minute to put the Lynx 3-0 and the second came in the game's final minute when a pass by Buccaneers goalkeeper Ally Reddish landed straight at Kalou's feet. She now has five goals in her freshman year, tied for the team lead and second in the conference.
  • Audrey Calhoun picked up her eighth win of the season as she and Lauren Lacy split the shutout. The Lynx are yet to allow a goal in October, holding all four opponents to scoreless finishes. Reddish took the loss for Mass Maritime. Kalou led the Lynx in shots with five, while Taylor Blanton led her side with two shots.
