Lynx Defeat Simmons 4-0 for Third Straight Win

GAME OVERVIEW:

BOSTON, MA. -- The Lesley Women's soccer team sran their season-opening win streak to three games with a 4-0 victory over Simmons University. The Lynx are now at 3-0 over their first week, while the Sharks fall to 0-2 on the season.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Another Lynx scored their first goal of the season, with sophomore Izzy O'Hagan taking her turn this time. O'Hagan gave the Lynx the 1-0 lead the took into halftime after a physical battle that kept both teams scoreless over the first 43 minutes.
  • Courtney McCluskey contributed another first goal in the 65th minute, bringing the season total to seven first-time Lynx scorers. Nine different Lynx have scored this season, with the team totaling for eleven goals so far.
  • Five minutes later, Abby Kalou scored her second goal of the season to put the Lynx ahead 3-0. Siena Stueland added the fourth Lynx goal in the 77th minute, with Gabby Lara assisting.
  • Junior goalkeeper Audrey Calhoun picked up her third win of the season and her second straight shut out. Calhoun has saved all four shots sent her way, playing well behind a strong Lynx defensive front. Marita Nothacker was handed the loss for Simmons. She falls to 0-2 after saving nine of thirteen shots.

The Lynx hit the road again on Monday September 6th for a Labor Day match against Emmanuel College. Kick off will be at 7 PM.
