THE LEAD – The Lynx hosted Thomas College in back to back matches this past weekend. The Terriers collected both wins while on the road, sending them up 4-3 in NAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1
- Lesley put a quick six points on the board, forcing the Terriers to climb out of a deficit early in the game.
- The Lynx offense continued to find the net, finishing the first period with a 13-7 lead.
- A three pointer for the Terriers with 5 minutes to go in the second brought Thomas within a point of the Lynx, followed by a layup to overtake the lead.
- The lead changed 6 times before the period ended with a 28-26 score in favor of the Terriers.
- The third period began with nine unanswered points for the Terriers, sending Lesley down 37-26. Thomas outscored Lesley 19-11 in the third, heading into the fourth with a 47-37 lead.
- Both teams continued to battle the entirety of the fourth, Lesley finishing with just three players on the court but ultimately fell to the Terriers 64-48.
INSIDE THE NUMERS
- Alexandra Kerley lead the Lynx with 15 points, 20 rebounds and two blocks, posting another double-double on the season.
- Paige Stowers followed with 11 points and three rebounds on the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2
- The Terriers came out strong to start the second matchup of the weekend. Lesley trailed, tying the match up 9-9 at the five-minute mark off a three-pointer from Stowers.
- Savannah Gravitt entered the game just seconds later after a Terriers foul, knocking down a three-pointer to take the lead.
- Thomas outscored Lesley 20-8 in the second, heading into halftime with a generous 44-26 lead.
- The Lynx continued to battle but couldn't break into the 20-point cushion held by the Terriers, finishing the quarter in a 59-35 deficit.
- Lesley finished the game strong but ultimately fell to Thomas 74-52.
INSIDE THE NUMERS
- Kerley once again led the Lynx, with 12 points and 17 rebounds on the match.
- Hillary Berry followed with eight points and 10 rebounds.
