Lynx Compete at Jay Carisella Track & Field Invite

The Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field teams competed at the Jay Carisella Track & Field Invitational at Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston on Saturday.

The Lynx women were led by Christina Ogunti (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) who ran a 8.13 in the 55 meter dash coming in 42nd place also running a quick 28.74 in the 200 meter also good enough for 42nd place. Emma Reisner finished just five places behind Ogunti in the 55 meter dash with a time of 8.38. Elize McKelvey (Baltimore, OH/Fairfield Union)  and Keryn Thorvaldsen (Sayville, NY/ Sayville) both ran the 5000 meter with times of 19:50.31 and 19:52.71, respectively.

Junior Kelsey Fitzgerald (Upton, MA/Nipmuc Regional) was the leading middle distance runner for the Lynx clocking in at 1:10.14 in the 800 meter with Jackie Sanchez (Santa Clarita, CA/Golden Valley) finishing close behind at a time of 1:12.75. Overall the Lynx had an impressive showing at the invitational. 

On the men's side, freshman Jordan Church (Garrison, NY/Lakeland-Panas) ran a 3:06.27 in the 1000 meter placing 23rd overall.  In the 3000 meter distance race junior Cory Poissant (Westminster,MA/Oakmont Regional) finished at a time of 10:52.32. Sophomore distance runner Kyle Casiglio (Shelton, MA/Shelton) crossed the line at 16:11.60 in 25th place with Max Bulger (Portland, ME/Cheverus) finishing four places behind at 16:26.10 and freshman Evan Reseska (Holliston,MA/Holliston)  at 16:30.84, set at 31st place. 

The Lynx compete next on December 10th at Harvard University at the Harvard Open in Cambridge, MA at the Gordon Indoor Track Facility.
