Virtual Senior Day: Men's Volleyball

CAMBRIDGE, MA. -- Andrew Medeiros, a libero from Bristol, Rhode Island, was the lone senior on the Lesley men's volleyball team. Medeiros joined the team in his junior season and recorded eight kills and eight assists, while collecting 150 digs, second most on the team. Medeiros' recorded 224 total digs in 29 total matches over his two seasons with the Lynx. He had a career high of 28 digs in one match against NVU-Johnson in his junior season.

Medeiros was also a four-year member of the Lesley men's soccer team and was an active member of the student-athlete community. This year, he traveled to the NCAA Convention to represent Lesley and the NECC with five other NECC student-athletes.  "Andrew is the quintessential DIII Student-Athlete; he excels in the classroom, he leads on the field, and he engages in the Lesley Community and beyond," described Director of Athletics Stephanie Smyrl.

Head volleyball coach Nile Fox says "It was great having Andrew on the team since I have been here. He was always wanting to learn more about the sport and was such a great teammate to others. Although soccer was his primary sport, Andrew always gave 100% every time he was on the court. These last two seasons, I was able to see him grow as a volleyball player and leader. He will truly be missed by all of us."

"Every practice and van ride, we were laughing, smiling, and joking around while focusing on trying our best to get better," Medeiros said when asked about his shortened senior season. "I miss not being with my team the most."

The Lesley Athletics Department would like to thank Andrew for his time, dedication, and commitment to the men's volleyball team, as well as the men's soccer team and the athletic community as a whole.
