Volleyball ends season with loss at Daniel Webster

NASHUA, NH-- Freshman Herbin Berreondo led the Lynx with three kills in six chances for a .333 hitting percentage in the team's season-ending 3-0 (25-6, 25-6, 25-9) loss at Daniel Webster in New England Collegiate Conference men's volleyball Wednesday night at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.

Daniel Webster set a school record with a .596 hitting percentage, totaling 32 kills with only four errors in 47 attempts. Freshman Joel Hendrix registered six kills with no errors in seven attempts, and Chris Shannon led all players with 11 kills in 15 error-free attempts. Eric Smith led the way with six service aces and sophomore Joe Walz added five as Daniel Webster totaled 19 aces to zero for the Lynx.

The Eagles (14-5, 6-5 NECC) opened Game 1 with seven straight points, finished the middle set on a 19-2 run and opened the final set on a 16-3 run, leading from start to finish in the first and third sets.

For the Lynx, Brian Hicks posted a team-high four kills, tying Alex Zhitnik with a team-best three digs. Melvin Morales led the team with nine set assists as Lesley finishes 2012 at 2-16, 2-10 in NECC play.
