Lynx drop pair at Rivier tri-match

NASHUA, NH -- Lesley dropped a pair of 3-0 decisions at Rivier's tri-match Saturday afternoon, losing 16-25, 17-25, 27-29 to Ramapo and 19-25, 15-25, 20-25 to the host Raiders.

Zach Almeida-Beers led Lesley with 11 kills on the day, six of which came on 14 attempts in the loss to Ramapo. William Lau totaled five kills over 18 swings, also setting up the Lynx hitters with nine assists.

Defensively, Almeida-Beers led all players with two solo blocks.

Ramapo's Jeff Jones led all players with 12 kills on 20 attempts, earning a .500 hitting percentage.

Lau and Almeida-Beers tied for team-high honors with five kills each against Rivier Alemida-Beers did so with no errors on only seven attempts, also leading the Lynx defensive effort with nine digs and two total blocks. Brian Diah added a solo block of his own, also combining with Almeida-Beers on a block.

For the Raiders, Sam Kazlas hit a match-high 14 kills.

Lesley returns to action at nationally-ranked Cambridge rival MIT on Monday at 7 p.m.
