Lynx can't pick up first  win at WIT

BOSTON, MA -- Lesley men's volleyball fell short of landing its first win in the team's 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-19) loss at Wentworth Institute of Technology Thursday night in Tansey Gymnasium.

Christian Domingo led the Lynx with five kills, while William Lau added 14 digs. Zachary Almeida-Beers chipped in with 10 digs and a pair of kills as the Lynx fell to 0-5 overall, 0-5 in the NECVA and remained 0-1 in the NECC play.

For WIT, now 3-4 on the season, Mike Buonincontra did it all, totaling four kills, three service aces, three digs and six assists in the win. Tyler Moriarty tossed a match-best 25 assists for Wentworth.

A 6-0 run turned a 5-3 contest into an 11-3 Leopards lead in Game 1. Lesley used an 8-2 run to cut the margin to 13-11, but WIT turned on the jets to take the opener 25-15.

With the middle set tied 3-3, the Leopards used a 9-0 run to distance themselves in Game 2 in opening a 12-4 lead. WIT opened up its largest lead at 21-11 before taking the set 25-18.

The Lynx scored the first two points of Game 3 and looked in control, opening up a 9-5 lead. The Leopards countered with a 9-2 run to go up 14-12. On three separate occasions Lesley would cut the marging to two before Wentworth closed out a 25-19 win to take the match.

Lesley returns to action on Saturday in NECC play at Southern Vermont at 11 a.m., while WIT invites CCNY and Johnson & Wales to Boston for a tri-match.
