Daniel Webster hands Lesley 3-0 defeat

NASHUA, N.H. - Nick Assad (Andover, Mass.) spiked home a team-high eight kills on 10 total attacks, but the junior's efficient performance was not enough in a 3-0 loss to Daniel Webster College Wednesday evening.  The Lynx dropped to 0-6 (0-2 NECC) on the season while the Eagles improved to 2-1 (2-0 NECC).

Stephen Siragusa (Valley Stream, N.Y.) and Zachary Almeida-Beers (Rehoboth, Mass.) each had three kills in the match.  Siragusa also finished the match with a team-high seven digs.

Daniel Webster's Chris Shannon (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) registered a match-high 10 kills and added four service aces, and Eric Smith (Clay, N.Y.) notched eight aces and added 20 assists.

The Eagles controlled the entire match with consistent play that included a 15-3 run to close out a first set 30-10 victory.

The Lynx build an early 6-4 lead in the second set, but the Eagles answered right back with a 7-0 run to regain the advantage.  Daniel Webster would go on to win the set 30-18.

Lesley went on a five-point run in the middle of the third set to close the gap to 25-12 but back-to-back Eagles kills helped solidify the victory with a 30-13 set win.

The Lynx visit Lasell College for a tri-match including Lancaster Bible College beginning at 10:00 am on Sunday while the Eagles host Endicott College on Friday evening at 7:00 pm.
