Men's Volleyball: Week in Review

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University men's volleyball remained competitive in their four matches this past week, despite losing to Wentworth Institute of Technology, Johnson & Wales University, Rivier College, and Massachusetts Institute of Techology.  

The Lynx were led by Mike Labagh (Elizabethtown, Pa.) who averaged 6.0 kills/game.  Defensively, Labagh was impressive as well, tallying 24 digs, 14 solo blocks, and 10 block assists including a nine solo block effort against MIT.

Nick Assad (Andover, Mass.) and Scott Wheeler (East Hampton, Conn.) complemented Labagh's effort with 13 and 11 kills, respectively for the week.  Assad's best game came against Johnson & Wales where he finished with five digs, two solo blocks, and two services ace to go along with his four kills.  Against Rivier, Wheeler had five kills on eight total attacks.  He also chipped in with four digs, a service ace and a solo block. 

Setting up the offensive attack were setters Clayton Janer (Guilford, Conn.) and Stephen Siragusa (Valley Stream, N.Y.).  Janer averaged 3.8 assists per game while Siragusa had his best game of the week against Johnson & Wales, tallying 14 set assists.

Lesley will be back in action Friday night at home against Endicott College at 8:00 p.m.
