Lynx Drop Regular Season Finale 4-2 to Mitchell

GAME OVERVIEW:

NEW LONDON, CT. -- The Lesley Men's Soccer team fell to conference opponent Mitchell College 4-2 in their final regular season match on Saturday afternoon. The Lynx fall to 0-15-1 overall and 0-5-1 in conference play, while the Mariners advance to 1-11-4 and 1-2-3 in NECC.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Mitchell took no time getting out in front in this one, scoring their first goal in the second minute. Mason Rubino put in his third goal of the season to put his team ahead, with assists from Cristian Barrales and Daniel Hotaling.
  • The Lynx responded well, going into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Barry Mamadou scored his first two goals of the season in the first half, with Daniel Monteserin assisting on the first in the 27th minute and Daniel Canellys in the 42nd minute.
  • The Mariners bounced back quickly as well, scoring twice within three minutes early in the second half. Hotaling picked up his second assist of the game, this time helping Noslin Antunez to tie the game at two in the 52nd minute. Cristian Barrales put his team in the lead with an assist from Matt Ladd two minutes later.
  • Mitchell tacked on a final goal in the 83rd minute, as Nicholas Ghirardi scored on a penalty kick.

The Lynx will face either Eastern Nazarene College or New England College in the first round of NECC Postseason Tournament on Wednesday November 3rd.
