Lynx Lose Heartbreaker to Suffolk in OT

GAME OVERVIEW:

BOSTON, MA. -- The Lesley Men's Soccer team put up an amazing effort in the pouring rain, but were defeated by the Suffolk Rams in overtime 1-0. The Lynx fall to 0-9, while the Rams get above .500 at 5-4.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx were outshot by the Rams 31-5 overall, but Josiah Williams played the most impressive game of his yougn collegiate career. Williams saved eleven of twelve shots sent his way in this one, with the only miscue being the Rams' overtime winner.
  • After a relatively quiet first half, Suffolk enhanced their aggression in the second half. They took twenty shots, but could not manage to get one by Williams. Nigel Leo and Brady Sorensen each took six shots to lead the Rams, with Sorensen being the one to eventually find the net.
  • Sorensen's gamewinner came in the 96th minute, as Taj Jensen found him streaking downfield and connected. Sorensen was able to get through the Lynx defense and send his team home with the win.
  • Alfredo Serrano Figueroa earned the win for Suffolk, saving the only shot on goal Lesley was able to get. He advances to 2-1-1, while Williams falls to 0-3 despite the exceptional performance under pressure.
