Lynx Get One, But Fall to Pilgrims on the Road

GAME OVERVIEW:

HENNIKER, NH. -- The Lesley Men's Soccer team could not overcome a strong offensive attack by the New England College Pilgrims, losing 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Lynx fall to 0-8 overall and 0-1 in the NECC, while the Pilgrims advance to 3-2 and 1-0 in conference play.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Pilgrims were up early in this one, scoring two goals in the first eighteen minutes. Panagiotis Galatas picked up assists on both goals, as Wiskens Flavil and Julian Duarte each put one past Lynx goalkeeper Michael Bolduc. Duarte picked up a brace later in the 34th minute to put the Pilgrims up 3-0, with an assist by Connor Manteau.
  • New England got their fourth goal of the first half thanks to Santiago Duarte's score in the 42nd minute and settled into halftime with a 4-0 lead. The Pilgrims outshot the Lynx 22-7 in the first half. Tucker Stenger continued the attack and made it 5-0 Pilgrims in the 52nd minute with an assist by Alex Rust.
  • The Lynx got on the board for the first time this season thanks to a header by Daniel Monteserin. Monteserin picked up his first goal of the season as the Lynx were able to hang with the Pilgrims in the second half. Each team scored once on seven second half shots.
  • Robbie Ferguson earned the win for NEC, saving both of the shots that came his way. Bolduc took the loss for Lesley, putting his record at 0-5 this season.
