A member of the Rhode Island Golf Association (RIGA), Pappas competes annually in RIGA events including the RI Amateur Championship and RI Mid-Amateur Championship. In addition to these main events, he’s also entered several other local tournaments including the Taunton City Open and the Brockton City Open.

I am excited to be given the opportunity to work with the Athletic Department to build the new Men’s Golf program,” said Pappas. “I want to thank our AD Dan Campagna along with multiple others who were instrumental in making this possible. This is an amazing opportunity to build a program in what is a golden age for the sport of golf and with the support from this athletic department, we can have this program competing at the highest-level.”

Pappas joins the Lynx coaching staff while maintaining his fulltime role at the University as the Senior Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions. Prior to joining the Lesley staff in January 2023, Pappas worked at Fisher College for two years as an Assistant Director of Admissions.

“Golf is such an amazing lifetime sport that teaches us so much about ourselves. I hope to help our student athletes grow their game so that they can compete at a high level for not only Lesley, but also for themselves as they graduate and move on to the next stage of their lives,” said Pappas.

Pappas graduated from Endicott College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2019, focusing his senior thesis study on ‘How Does Social Support Impact Athletes Motivation to Return from Injury?” In addition to being involved in the orientation program as an Orientation Leader, Pappas was a member of the Endicott Ski & Snowboard Club and Psychology Club.

In high school, Pappas held an overall record of 32-4 during his final two seasons on the varsity starting lineup. He earned 2013 South Coast Conference (SCC) Honorable Mention honors and helped lead his Dighton-Rehoboth squad to the 2011 & 2012 SCC regular-season and tournament championships. Pappas earned medalist honors at the MIAA South Regional State Qualifier as well as in a match at Acushnet River Valley (Acushnet, Mass.).

Pappas will begin the search with local courses to partner with as a home site for practices and match play. Any individual interested in learning more about the program can contact Coach Pappas at eric.pappas@lesley.edu or fill out a Men's Golf Recruiting Questionnaire.
