THE LEAD –  The Lesley Lynx hosted Vermont State University Lyndon this weekend for two NAC matchups. Lesley celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, honoring the two Lynx seniors DJ Alexander and Madison McCall.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1

  • The Hornets Tavarius Vance immediately fired off a three pointer in the first ten seconds of the match, followed by a three pointer from Alexander a minute later to even the score out.
  • The Lynx continued to fire off shots, climbing to a 6-point lead before the Hornets answered.
  • Both teams battled back and forth, with 4 lead changes in the first half. The teams broke for halftime with the Hornets in the lead by a singular point.
  • The score was tied up three separate times when the teams returned to the court. At the 15 minute-mark the Hornets took the lead and never looked back.
  • The Lynx dropped the first of the two matchups 79-65.

INSIDE THE NUMERS  

  • Christian Castro led the Lynx offense with 21 points, going 5-6 on three-pointers and 8-10 on field goals.
  • Malachi Howard followed with 16 points and 8 rebounds in the setback.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 2

  • The Hornets established an early lead over the Lynx, posting 10-points in the first two minutes of the match.
  • VTSU Lyndon continued to rack up the points, heading into halftime with a 15-point cushion.
  • A three-pointer from Kai Burridge in the 16th minute brought Lesley within six points of the Hornets but was immediately rebutted with a three-pointer from VTSU.
  • The Hornets continued to find the net, finishing with a 94-72 win over the Lynx.

INSIDE THE NUMERS  

  • Howard led the Lynx with 20 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.
  • McCall put up a career high 13 points, going 3-9 from the arc.
